Vacancy: Chairperson 

Term: 1 December 2024 for 1 year 

Remuneration: Up to £10k per annum plus reasonable expenses 

Commitment: ~12 days per year including travel


FIS is the coalition of experts driving innovation for a prosperous and sustainable UK seafood industry.

We champion innovation projects which will make the greatest positive change for the UK seafood industry and the people driving it. Our remit is to facilitate, coordinate and leverage investment for innovation in UK seafood.  Since 2014, FIS has leveraged more than £3million in investment into innovation for sustainable UK seafood.  We are governed and funded by M&S, Sainsbury’s, Young’s Seafood, Seafish and the Fishmongers’ Company.     


FIS is seeking a new Chairperson 

As FIS Chair, you will lead the Board of Trustees who are entrusted to provide strategic direction to the charity in its remit to facilitate, coordinate and leverage investment for innovation in UK seafood.  You would also ensure the Board act in accordance with its mission and charitable purposes as described in the FIS Articles of Association. The Board has delegated responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of FIS to the Secretariat, overseen by the Executive Director.

Applicants should have sectoral knowledge and enthusiasm to develop the charity in meeting its aims and objectives.
