We’re heading to Aberdeen today for the 2026 Fishing News Awards and the Scottish Skipper Expo, where we’ll be showcasing practical innovations for sustainable UK seafood – including our award-winning Nephrops Stun & Tail system, which is shortlisted tonight.
Designed to improve onboard performance in the UK Nephrops fishery, this machine is built around a pressing challenge: how to improve welfare and efficiency onboard fishing vessels in one of the UK’s most important fisheries.
Developed in collaboration with partners from across the supply chain, the system recently completed a second round of sea trials aboard the Golden Ray trawler, moving us closer to operational roll-out.
Designed to improve how Nephrops are handled onboard, the innovative technology delivers:
- Improved animal welfare
- Enhanced product handling
- Reduced crew workload
- Quality seafood for consumers
Together these improvements point to a more efficient and resilient onboard processing model, stronger operational performance across the fleet and improved sector sustainability.
Keen to learn more about this system and how it might work onboard your vessel? Come see us and our partners Optimar at stand E28!
